Wyclef Jean Shocked By Nigeria's Exit From Africa Cup Of Nations

The shock over Nigeria’s non-qualification for the 2015 Africa Nations Cup is of international dimension as international music icon, Wyclef Jean, has expressed disbelief at the Super Eagles failure to qualify for the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations billed for Equatorial Guinea. The Haiti-born singer expressed his feelings via his Twitter handle just as many other Nigerians have continued to express.

The Eagles lost the ticket to Congo after struggling to a 2-2 draw against South Africa’s Bafana Bafana in Uyo on Wednesday. Wyclef who tweeted after the match said he was stunned that the once revered African champions could not sail through despite being a good zone.

Wyclef who sang the big hit ‘Dialo Dialo’ wrote, “Shocker I am stunned unbelievable the #NGA #SuperEagles are out of #CFA finals in the hand of #RSA #AfricaUnited #Clefication #DivineSorrow.”

The Haitian who also did collaboration with late Witney Houston ‘If Tomorrow were Judgment Day’ is surely a big fan of African football as he had kept pace with the qualifiers all along. When Equatorial Guinea became the new hosts of the event, he posted, “Equatorial Guinea confirmed as Morocco’s replacement to host @BBCFarayi @NacimCity #AFCON2015 #AfricaUnited.”

And on Wednesday before the game in Akwa Ibom State kicked off, the ‘Gone Till November’ crooner wrote, “Last day for #CAF qualifications, will the defending champions #NGA survive? #AfricaUnited #Clefication #DivineSorrow.”

The award-winning musician is not the only star from that zone that loves football. Sprinter Usain Bolt is a fan of Manchester United and believes he could play for the team some day.
