LITTLE BABY ALFIE EVANS DIES AT ALDER HEY HOSPITAL AFTER PARENTS LOSE COURT BATTLE FOR TREATMENT...

Alfie Evans has died at Alder Hey hospital after his parents lost their final battle in court to prevent doctors from turning his life support machine off. The 23-month-old had been at the centre of a life-support fight that saw him granted Italian citizenship so that he might receive treatment in Rome.

This morning, dad Tom Evans announced that his ‘gladiator’ had ‘gained his wings’.

He said: ‘My gladiator lay down his shield and gained his wings at 2.30am. Absolutely heartbroken. I LOVE YOU MY GUY’.

Alder Hey Hospital later posted a statement saying: ‘We wish to express our heartfelt sympathy and condolences to Alfie’s family at this extremely distressing time.

‘All of us feel deeply for Alfie, Kate, Tom and his whole family and our thoughts are with them.’

‘This has been a devastating journey for them and we would ask that their privacy and the privacy of staff at Alder Hey is respected.’

On Tuesday, a judge ruled he will not be allowed to go to Italy for further treatment – but said he may be allowed home from hospital. Parents Tom Evans and Kate James, both in their early 20s and from Liverpool, were represented in court to appeal against the decision, however it was again rejected.

Speaking this week, Mr Evans said his son was breathing by himself. However, he later added that he had been ‘starved from nutrition’ for 23 hours.

He said: ‘Coming up to 24 hours and he’s fighting with his gorgeous features, pink lips, handsome grown up face, and odd cheeky smile now and again. ‘He has now been starved from nutrition for 23 hours. How is this human, where does his dignity lie?’

He had earlier said that since the life support machine was switched off, the boy was needing help with his breathing. He said: ‘At some point I had to give him mouth-to-mouth because his lips went blue and he was really fighting with his breathing so me and his mum were giving him mouth-to-mouth.’

The couple have lost battles in the High Court, Court of Appeal, Supreme Court and ECHR, over the last months.

Doctors withdrew treatment on Monday evening and Alfie spent the night in his mothers arms, breathing independently. Alfie was born on May 9, 2016 in Liverpool but was taken to hospital in December that year after suffering seizures.

He spent 12 months in hospital where bosses said they were ‘liaising directly’ with his family after disagreements over his treatment.  Alfie’s parents said the hospital has applied to the High Court to remove parental rights and withdraw ventilation. In December 2017 the hospital said it was not in Alfie’s best interests to be on life-support but his parents asked for permission to fly him to Italy.

In February this year, a doctor told the court that there is ‘no hope’ for Alfie who is in a semi-vegetative state from a degenerative neurological condition doctors have not been able to definitively identify. However his father said he ‘looks me in the eye’ and wants help.

The case was in and out of court throughout March and April before a decision was made last night by a high court judge, dismissing new submissions and his life support was withdrawn. Mr Evans said on Monday: ‘I love Alfie and I love Kate, I will not give up.’ Pope Francis has also expressed support for the couple.

He said in a tweet on Monday: ‘Moved by the prayers and immense solidarity shown little Alfie Evans, I renew my appeal that the suffering of his parents may be heard and that their desire to seek new forms of treatment may be granted.’+

At one point on Monday supporters of the family had attempted to storm Alder Hey. They ran towards the main doors but police blocked their way.

Police remained outside the entrances to the children’s hospital throughout the day. Alfie’s parents have lost two rounds of fights.

Judges have heard that Alfie, born on May 9 2016, is in a ‘semi-vegetative state’ and has a degenerative neurological condition doctors had not definitively diagnosed. Specialists say his brain has been ‘eroded’.

In February, Mr Justice Hayden had ruled that doctors at Alder Hey could stop treating Alfie against the wishes of his parents following hearings in the Family Division of the High Court in London and Liverpool. Specialists at Alder Hey said life support treatment should stop and Mr Justice Hayden said he accepted medical evidence which showed that further treatment was futile. He said flying Alfie to a foreign hospital would be wrong and pointless.

Court of Appeal judges upheld his decisions. Supreme Court justices and European Court of Human Rights judges refused to intervene. The couple then argued Alfie was being wrongly ‘detained’ at Alder Hey and made a habeas corpus application.

Mr Justice Hayden dismissed that application. Appeal judges upheld Mr Justice Hayden’s decision. On Friday Supreme Court justices said they would not intervene. Early on Monday EHCR judges also refused to intervene...

Watch Video: MONKEY ATTACKS TOURIST WHO TRIED TO PUSH IT OFF RAILINGS INTO A POND...

A man who tried to push a monkey off railings got what he deserved when it turned around and attacked him.

Video shows how the monkey cried as it lost balance and fell – only to leap back up seconds later and slash his hands and face. No sympathy for the man, sorry. It’s like he hasn’t even watched the Wizard of Oz.

The unnamed man was visiting the Xitian Temple in Dehua County, East China’s Fujian Province.

Another visitor filmed him creeping up on the unsuspecting animal, which was perched on a metal railing next to the body of water. After the monkey took revenge, it then chased the man into the temple as other visitors laughed.

It was joined by another monkey, who defended its friend and also began to attack the man. The monkey’s clan mate rushes to its rescue and enters the building to attack the man.

‘The monkeys scratched the tourist,’ a temple employee said, adding: ‘There were other people inside, and they helped drive the monkeys away.’

The tourist later shared a photo of his bloodied hand and face.

Sorry, "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you".

Kim Kardashian forced husband to backtrack on a string of Twitter posts after the Gold Digger rapper said he considered Donald Trump a "brother"

West the US President was his "brother" and that the "mob" cannot make him "not love him".

The rapper, 40, had been prolific on Twitter on Wednesday, earlier claiming to make more money from shoes than Michael Jordan. West initially tweeted to his more than 18 million followers: "You don't have to agree with Trump but the mob can't make me not love him. We are both dragon energy.

"He is my brother. I love everyone. I don't agree with everything anyone does. That's what makes us individuals. And we have the right to independent thought."

West, who has three children with his wife, added: "If your friend jumps off the bridge you don't have to do the same. Ye being Ye is a fight for you to be you.

"For people In my life the idea of Trump is pretty much a 50 50 split but I don't tell a Hillary supporter not to support Hillary I love Hillary too."

It seems West soon received a call from wife Kim asking him to explain his tweets, however, as he wrote: "My wife just called me and she wanted me to make this clear to everyone.

"I don't agree with everything Trump does. I don't agree 100% with anyone but myself."

West, who met the then president-elect in December 2016, also tweeted to say he was neither a Democrat or aRepublican.

He said: "I love when people have their own ideas. You don't have to be allowed anymore. Just be. Love who you want to love.

"That's free thought. I'm not even political. I'm not a democrat or a republican."

Minutes after posting his original tweets, West looked to clarify his comments following a call from his wife.

He said: "My wife just called me and she wanted me to make this clear to everyone. I don't agree with everything Trump does. I don't agree 100% with anyone but myself."

Mr Trump replied shortly after, writing: "Thank you Kanye, very cool!"

Following his meeting with Mr Trump in 2016, West told reporters they talked about "life".

FESTIVAL-GOER'S SELFIE VIDEO CATCHES MAN SLIPPING SOMETHING INTO HER DRINK...Ladies be careful and watch what you're drinking in public!!!

This shocking video captures the moment a man slips something into a woman’s drink while it’s in her own hand. As the woman films a selfie video showing her dancing at a festival, the man approaches her from behind.

In plain sight, and in front of other revellers, he appears to put an unknown item, suspected to be a pill, in the woman’s cup.

The clip was posted on Twitter by Jaeda Sky, the friend of the targeted woman who can also be seen in the video. She wrote: ‘I’ll never understand how a dude can be so wack with no game and feel the need to be such a disgusting predator.

Ladies watch your drinks! Watch her cup.’ Her message of awareness has since been retweeted almost 100,000 times.

Jaeda later reassured people by writing that her friend noticed and is fine. But the video, filmed at an unknown festival, attracted widespread concern on social media.

One person wrote: ‘Wow the drink can literally be in my own hand and I’ll still get roofied.’

See me, see wahala! HOMOSEXUALS FIGHT IN LAGOS AFTER CONTRACTING HIV...

There was chaos in Egbe, in the Ikotun area of Lagos State, when some homosexuals allegedly fought one another after contracting the Human Immunodefeciency Virus.

It was gathered that one of the men, identified as Ezeugo, infected his first lover with the virus.

Ezeugo had reportedly brought in another boyfriend to the house and was about to make love to him when the first boyfriend raised the alarm around 3am on Tuesday.

Policemen from the Ikotun division were invited by residents and the suspects were arrested.

A police source said the prime suspect, Ezeugo, confessed to have been a homosexual for about five years.

He said, “We got a distress call from residents around 3am that there was a fight among five homosexuals living together in a room apartment.

“On getting there, we were told that late that night, the neighbours heard a noise and thought a thief had broken into the house.  But they later discovered that the noise came from the room where the men stayed and that they were fighting.

“The tenant who accommodated the others, Ezeugo, had gone out to bring a new gay partner and was about to sleep with him when his first lover protested that he could not be sleeping with him and his tribesman from Calabar, Cross River State.

“Ezeugo denied that he wanted to sleep with the new person.

“While we were interviewing them, the first lover said his major grouse was that Ezeugo was sleeping with him and wanted to sleep with his tribesman as well.”

But the state Police Public Relations Officer, SP Chike Oti, said the suspects fought after they discovered that they had been infected with HIV.

Oti identified the men, whose ages ranged from 20 to 31, as Ezeugo, Akachukwu, Abuchi, Dara and Marvellous.

The police spokesperson said the five suspects were in custody and they were assisting with investigation.

He said, “They were into gay relationship and a quarrel broke out among them. The security men who listened to their heated argument alerted the police and the Ikotun Divisional Police Officer sent men there to arrest them. One of them confessed to be HIV/AIDS positive and said it was his boyfriend that infected him. The boyfriend was sleeping with the other men as well and that was the cause of their fight.”

SOUTH AFRICAN ANTI-APARTHEID CAMPAIGNER WINNIE MANDELA HAS DIED AGED 81...

Winnie Madikizela Mandela has died aged 81. Hailed as the mother of ‘new’ South Africa, Madikizela’s legacy as an anti-apartheid heroine was undone when she was revealed to be a ruthless ideologue prepared to sacrifice laws and lives in pursuit of revolution and redress.

Her uncompromising methods and refusal to forgive contrasted sharply with the reconciliation espoused by her husband Nelson Mandela as he worked to forge a stable, pluralistic democracy from the racial division and oppression of apartheid.

The contradiction helped kill their marriage and destroyed the esteem in which she was held by many South Africans, although the firebrand activist retained the support of radical black nationalists to the end.

In her twilight years, Madikizela-Mandela, who died on Monday aged 81, had frequent run-ins with authority that further undermined her reputation as a fighter against the white-minority regime that ran Africa’s most advanced economy from 1948 to 1994.

During her husband’s 27-year incarceration, Madikizela-Mandela campaigned tirelessly for his release and for the rights of black South Africans, suffering years of detention, banishment and arrest by the white authorities.

She remained steadfast and unbowed throughout, emerging to punch the air triumphantly in the clenched-fist salute of black power as she walked hand-in-hand with Mandela out of Cape Town’s Victor Vester prison on Feb. 11, 1990.

MAN WHO SPENT 23 YEARS ON THE RUN FOR GETTING HIS 12-YEAR-OLD DAUGHTER PREGNANT, FINALLY CAUGHT BY POLICE...

An illegal immigrant was arrested after being on the run for 23 years to avoid charges of impregnating his 12-year-old daughter.

Heraclio Gamez-Nava was arrested in Porter, Texas on Thursday after showing police a 1995 warrant from Nevada in which he was charged with continuous sexual assault of a minor under the age of 14, Click Houston reported.

As soon as the 64-year-old was served with the warrant he went on the run, and had not been seen since.

'At that time, they fled Nevada and have been on the run since,' the Montgomery County Precinct Four Constable's office explained.

Gamez-Nava is a Mexican national and has been living in the country illegally with his wife Alicia Vazquez-Carrizales, 55.  Police took him in on Thursday after he was pulled over for driving his car the wrong way under an overpass on Highway 59.

When officials spoke to he and his wife, who was driving the car, they were eventually able to identify them.  Vazquez-Carrizales was deported to Mexico twice, once in 2003 and again in 2014, and will likely be deported gain.

She has been charged with hindering the apprehension of a felon, which is a misdemeanor. Both Gamez-Nava and Vazquez-Carriales are currently in jail awaiting trial.

MAN KILLS UNCLE FOR CAUTIONING HIM AGAINST DRINKING...

The Police Command in Niger State has at on Sunday arrested a 25-year-old man, Dodo Baraje, for allegedly murdering his uncle, identified as Baraje. He was reportedly trailed and apprehended by a team of policemen attached to the Bangi Police Division of the state while trying to escape.

The suspect, who lives in Shirumbu village, Maraga Local Government Area of the state, was said to have allegedly killed 50-year-old Baraje during a heated argument over Dodo’s love for a local brew called ‘suck and die’.

It was learnt that the suspect shot his uncle for allegedly preventing him from taking the drink. Northern City News gathered that Dodo lived with his uncle from infancy, before he got married.

The suspect said that he shot his uncle because he beat him up for drinking ‘suck and die’ which the deceased said might ruin his life.

He said, “Out of annoyance, I ran into the house, picked a gun and shot him. I never knew that he would die, he was only correcting me so that I will be a better person in the society, someone my family will be proud of.”

The father of four added, “I don’t know how I am going to explain this to my family, especially to my wife who loved my late uncle so much. In fact, I was under the influence of alcohol; ordinarily I wouldn’t have killed my uncle who took care of me.

“I had never quarreled with him before, honestly, I don’t know what came over me. May Allah forgive me. I now realised what I have done to my life, I am a fool,” Dodo lamented.

The Police Public Relations Officer, Muhammad Abubakar, confirmed the incident, stating that operatives recovered one single-barrelled gun from him. Abubakar said the suspect would soon be arraigned in court.
