Read: THE OMINOUS WESTERN(Europe, US and the UK) ULTERIOR MOTIVES BEHIND LIBYA'S MUAMMAR GADDAFI'S DEATH...

The Western world has a long history of meddling in foreign affairs of developing countries in order to satisfy their own mischievous ulterior motives. A history that dates back to British colonization. Of course, the West is not unique in its power grabs.

Power grabs the West usually mask as peacekeeping efforts. But the West is clearly not learning from history. Indeed, previous empires have fallen due to exhibiting similar greed.

On the 6th anniversary of Colonel Muammar Gaddafi’s death, many questions remain starkly ignored by the mainstream press. When the Libyan rebels overthrew the totalitarian dictator, the media presented a neat and tidy narrative which painted the “good guys‘ having overcome the “evil villain.” But what many people don’t realize is that there was something more sinister underlying the push for Gaddafi’s demise.

After WikiLeaks exposed Hilary Clinton’s emails, information came to light that Western motivations to kill Gaddafi were more sinister than mere rebels wishing to knock off their totalitarian ruler. Indeed, a rebel conducted the actual assassination with none other than Gaddafi’s famed golden gun, and news media immediately beamed the images around the globe. However, the rebel’s ability to reach Gaddafi was undoubtedly enabled by outside forces that had ulterior motives to see him dead.

According to an email between Sidney Blumenthal and Hilary Clinton, Blumenthal alleged that he had received exclusive information from “knowledgeable individuals” regarding France’s financial and political interests in Libya. Within this email, dated April 2, 2011, Blumenthal described how Gaddafi’s right-hand man, Abdul Fatah Younis, who had defected to the rebel side only a couple of months earlier, had a close relationship with France. A close relationship that supposedly granted him financial rewards.

In a tale potentially reminiscent of Judas Iscariot, Younis abandoned his allegiance to Gaddafi’s dying regime and sold his leader for “a bag” of approximately $7 billion worth of silver and gold. And similar to the tale of Judas, Younis lost his life only months later albeit in mysterious circumstances. Nevertheless, it appears that France and the US were able to achieve their ulterior motives riding on the back of the revolutionary horse that Younis led them to.

It wasn’t that France or the US necessarily wanted the gold itself, even though, curiously, its current whereabouts are unknown. It was Gaddafi’s rather grander plan that he had devised that was causing the West, and notably, France, to shake in their boots. According to the leaked email, Gaddafi intended to use this gold and silver to create a new currency. The intended gold dinar would become a replacement for the French franc, and it would give Francophone African countries more autonomy. Clearly, this horrified the French.

Blumenthal further claimed that his source described how the then French President Nicolas Sarkozy became hell-bent on attacking Libya. Furthermore, Sarkozy was motivated solely by protecting French interests in the region. The email listed five core reasons that Sarkozy was being driven by:

1) A desire to gain a greater share of Libyan oil production,

2) Increase French influence in North Africa,

3) Improve his internal political situation in France,

4) Provide the French military with an opportunity toreassert its position in the world,

5) Address the concern of his advisors over Gaddafi’s long-term plans to supplant France as thedominant power in Francophone Africa.

On the one hand, it is clear that France was biting at the chomp to enter Libya and retain their dominance in the area. However, the email also discloses that the leaders of the National Libyan Council (NLC),  Mustafa Abdul Jalil and Mahmoud Jibril, were also impatient for the French to act. It seems that their complementary interests were motivating the toppling of the Gaddafi regime.

On the fateful final day of the revolution, on the 20 October 2011, it is obvious that its conclusion was only possible via the West’s intervention. When the rebels had arrived at Gaddafi’s compound, a NATO drone located the Dictator’s vehicle convoy leaving the area. This drone, operated remotely from Las Vegas, notified French fighter jets of the convoy’s coordinates. The French then bombed the convoy, leading to the capture and death of Gaddafi.

The French, the Americans and the rebels all declared victory. Nevertheless, there was some evidence that the rebels did not necessarily want the revolution to end in Gaddafi’s actual death. A video journalist began uploading his travels around Libya in the April and March of 2011. His interviews with various rebels revealed their desire to keep the dictator alive. One particular rebel specifically wanted Gaddafi alive to witness the people being restored to freedom, thriving without a need for him.

Did overexcited rebels inadvertently kill Gaddafi immediately? Or was his death the consequence of instructions from the French and NATO? Either way, Gaddafi met his demise. Rebel’s streamed gory video evidence onto the internet, revealing how one had managed to shoot the former dictator through the temple, with Gaddafi’s own famed golden gun. Any rebel’s desire for the deposed dictator to witness their new world unfold, had to be abandoned. Instead, rebels took turns taking selfies with his corpse for many days, before the stench encouraged them to bury him finally.

The West cannot be excused for their patronizing meddling in foreign affairs, whether Gaddafi was a madman or not. Meddling which is made worse because there are apparently ulterior motives. The West has a bad habit of infantilizing nations that do not mirror their Western culture. Indeed, lust for power is the primary motivation of many in the West. Blumenthal’s email to Clinton clearly delinated this. The French asserted their power solely for their own selfish interests.

However, this example of Western interference in the affairs of Libya was in truth the culmination of decades of meddling. The US and the UK began taking advantage of Gaddafi’s narcissism and eccentricitiesduring the Reagan administration. Before President Ronald Reagan, President Henry Kissinger had been busy poking the Middle East hornet’s nest with disastrous results. Consequently, Kissenger left this mess for Reagan to deal with.

When Syria instigated revenge for this Western meddling, in the form of terrorist attacks, Reagan felt that dealing with Assad was too overwhelming. Consequently, the US created a scapegoat in the Libyan dictator Gaddafi. Gaddafi made the perfect scapegoat as he had delusions of becoming an international revolutionary. He saw himself as the force that would dismantle the power of the West. Consequently, the West craftily painted Gaddafi as a force to be feared. Willingly, he embraced this image as a compliment. Meanwhile, as Assad had previously predicted, the Middle East began releasing demons from under the surface of the Arab world.

One of the biggest ironies, six years later, are rumors that Gaddafi’s sons may seek to resume power over Libya in their father’s place. According to the Middle East Eye, Gaddafists are assembling themselves in readiness for this to happen. According to a television interview with the head of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya, Ghassan Salame, “the political reconstruction process may include Saif al-Islam,” Gaddafi’s son. Nevertheless, there are other rumors that Saif al-Islam may not even be alive any longer. No one has seen him publicly for a long time.

Some Libyans do express feeling regret over the removal of Gaddafi. These Libyans feel that who and what replaced him is much worse. Under Gaddafi, religious extremism was never a part of Libya. But it now threatens to suffocate those who feel themselves to be more secular and liberal. But what is clear, is that Libyans must sort out their problems between themselves. They are capable human beings, not inferior to those that live in the West. The Libyans wish to move forward with deciding their nation’s future. A future they construct that will fulfil their own needs. Never again should the needs of power-hungry Western nations influenced them, or anyone else, ever again.

BABY DIES IN MUM'S ARMS WHILST SHE SLEEPS...

A  traumatized mum has been left "heartbroken" after she woke to find her newborn baby boy had died in her arms after they both fell asleep on the sofa. Chelsea Love, 24, had taken eight-day-old Leo out of his bouncy chair when she noticed he was falling asleep and put him on her chest for a cuddle.

She was frantically woken up an hour later by Leo's father Sam Coles, after he saw his son had changed colour. Leo was rushed to hospital but despite desperate attempts to save him, he tragically died on October 26, last year.

Paying tribute to her son, Chelsea, who is also mum to two-year-old Scarlett, said: "He was just perfect, he was glowing and was a little star.

"As soon as we found out we were having a boy we were just so excited as we already had Scarlett and he just completed our family.

"My pregnancy and birth was fine and I was so excited when we got to take Leo home, we were a proper little family.

"The day before he died I actually said it felt like Leo had been with us forever."

Chelsea had a healthy pregnancy and Leo was born by cesarean section at Hull Women and Children's Hospital on October 18 last year, weighing 6lbs 1oz. An inquest into Leo's death heard how the family had enjoyed a trip to Hornsea in the afternoon before the tragedy. They had returned to their home in Didscourt, north Hull, when Sam went to collect a blanket made for Leo by a friend.

Devastated Chelsea told the inquest: "Leo was falling asleep in his bouncy chair so I decided to get him out for a cuddle.

"He was laid on his back, I had part of the duvet over my lower body and Leo's feet were covered. I was really tired but I didn't think I would fall asleep.

"I woke up to Sam screaming, I could not work out what was going on."

The couple dialled 999 and paramedics arrived at the scene immediately. Leo was taken to Hull Royal Infirmary where doctors managed to restart his heart. He was then transferred to Leeds hospital for specialist treatment, however a CT scan revealed he suffered extensive brain damage from a lack of oxygen and would never recover.

His parents then made the heartbreaking decision to turn off his life support machine and he passed away surrounded by his family. Chelsea says she has felt "broken" since Leo's death but her little girl is helping her through her pain.

She said: "If I didn't have my little girl I don't know what I would have done, she has helped us all through it," she said.

"Although she is only two, she knows all about Leo and can say his name. We always look up at the stars before she goes to bed every night and say night night to him."

Now, Miss Love bravely wants to raise awareness of what happened to other mums.

"I want to help people that have been in the same situation as me," she said.

"This could have happened to anyone, but I felt people really looked down on me at the time.

"If people have not been through this, they don't have any right to comment as they don't know how it feels.

"I have had people making horrible remarks and tipping rubbish in my garden where my little girl plays after they read about Leo's death in the paper. It was awful.

"I have been doing my driving lessons and I am working towards becoming a support worker myself.

"I really want to help people who have been in the same situation as me as I don't Miss Love would also like to thank everyone who donated to a fund set up to pay for Leo's funeral and Jones Funeral Directors who helped pay for the baby's service.

"I really appreciate the help and want to say thank you to those who donated," she said. "Even people I didn't know came forward."

Read: SERENA WILLIAMS AND ALEXIS OHANIAN'S STAR-STUDDED WEDDING!!!

A congrats is in order for Serena Williamsand Alexis Ohanian, who are now officially married. Serena, 36, and new hubby Alexis, 34, have reportedly tied the knot after announcing their engagement back in December 2016.

The couple have been together since 2015, and their wedding comes just 11 weeks after their birth of their daughter, Alexis Olympia Ohanian Jr. on September 1.

And with Alexis being the co-founder of Reddit, and Williams being one of the greatest tennis players of all time, these two truly are the definition of a power couple. They wed at the Contemporary Arts Centre in New Orleans in front of their nearest and dearest – including a whole bunch of celebrities including Beyonce, Kim Kardashian, and Eva Longoria.

Kim arrived just in the nick of time to see her friend walk down the aisle, travelling via private jet with sister Khloe’s BFF Malika Haqq, and Malika’s sister Khadija. Also in attendance was fellow tennis ace Caroline Wozniaci with her new fiance, NBA player David Lee.

The ceremony took place a day after the couple had their star-studded rehearsal dinner on Wednesday night. Serena was spotted on her way to the restaurant keeping her face out of the way of the lens; she wore a full-length ivory colored dress with pearls for the elegant dinner – but as of yet, no peek of the wedding dress

Her sister Venus decided on a silky dark blue dress, and their mother Oracene Price, who wore a short, purple dress in velvet with diamante detailing for the dinner.

The tennis star’s agent Jill Smoller was apparently also among the guests at the wedding, as was Serena’s sister Venus.

It was thought that guests including Beyoncé, Jay-Z and Kris Jenner were also invited but they managed to avoid the waiting paparazzi.

Williams announced her engagement last year with a poem posted to Reddit.

‘I came home. A little late. Someone had a bag packed for me. And a carriage waited. Destination: Rome,’ Williams posted under her personal account.

‘To escort me to my very own “charming.” Back to where our stars first collided. And now it was full circle. At the same table we first met by chance,’ she wrote. ‘But by choice. Down on knee. He said 4 words. And I said yes.’

Breaking News: ZIMBABWEAN TYRANT ROBERT MUGABE OUSTED FROM POWER IN A MILITARY COUP...

ZIMBABWEAN tyrant Robert Mugabe was this morning booted from office - as a military coup ended his 37-year iron grip on power.

The country's army confirmed the southern African nation's 93-year-old president had been "detained" but insisted he was "safe".

Soldiers had earlier seized the country's state TV station amid explosions and gunfire after tanks rolled into capital Harare.

Brits were immediately warned by the Foreign Office to stay indoors while Americans were told to "take cover and seek shelter".

Exiled former vice-president Emmerson Mnangagwa - nicknamed The Crocodile - has been installed as leader after being flown back into the country, a Twitter account claiming to be run by plotters said.

The account, with 55,000 followers, has in the past been accused of being a parody account.

It said: "Zimbabwe was not owned by Mugabe or his wife" - a reference to Grace Mugabe, who the statement accuses of "taking advantage" of the elderly despot.

His reviled wife was this morning reported to have fled to Namibia.

The army finally stepped in yesterday after Mugabe fired popular number two Mnangagwa, his probable successor, last week.

The alleged Zanu-PF account added: "Last night the first family was detained and are safe, both for the constitution and the sanity of the nation this was necessary.

"Today begins a fresh new era and comrade Mnangagwa will help us achieve a better Zimbabwe."

Leading commentator on Zimbabwean politics Chris Mutsvangwa said: “This is a correction of a state that was careering off the cliff.

“It’s the end of a very painful and sad chapter in the history of a young nation, in which a dictator, as he became old, surrendered his court to a gang of thieves around his wife.”

FATHER WHO PUNCHED HIS NEWBORN DAUGHTER TO DEATH FOUND DEAD IN CELL...

A father who killed his daughter because she wouldn’t stop crying has been found dead in his cell after apparently being murdered by another inmate.

Liam Deane, 22, was jailed a month ago after pleading guilty to punching two-day-old Luna in the face causing fatal injuries. He was found dead in his cell at HMP Leeds on Sunday and another inmate, John Westland, 28, has been charged with murder.

Westland was flanked by two police officers and a member of court escort staff as he was brought into the dock. He remained handcuffed throughout the brief hearing, speaking only to confirm his personal details.

A hearing will take place on Thursday at Leeds Crown Court. Luna’s mum had left her with Deane while she went to get some sleep.

But he lost his temper during the night when Luna continued to cry, Leeds Crown Court heard.

Prosecutor Michael Smith said the injuries found on the baby included injuries to her brain, body and face.

Mr Smith said: ‘He said he was responsible for all of the injuries that she had suffered and he said that Luna had not settled down and he lost control.’

The court heard how Luna’s mother Karen Bissett, 21, had gone upstairs at the family home in Wakefield, West Yorkshire, on July 11 this year.

The next day she was told by Deane that Luna had fallen. An ambulance was called after Deane had spoken to his mother, saying the baby was having difficulty breathing and had fallen and hit her head. Paramedics arrived and noticed her face was badly swollen and bruised.

Luna was taken to Leeds General Infirmary where she died in intensive care on July 14, three days after the attack. A doctor concluded Luna had died after suffering head trauma, leaving her with ‘catastrophic brain injuries.’

Deane broke down when interviewed by police and admitted he was responsible for attacking the baby. He admitted punching Luna to the face, squeezing her body and arms and shaking her.

Richard Wright, QC, representing Deane, said: ‘In my submission there is simply no explanation for the defendant’s behaviour.

‘His actions were wholly and utterly out of character for him. The defendant will have a very long time to reflect upon his terrible behaviour.’

Mr Wright read a victim statement to the court on behalf of Luna’s mother.

It stated: ‘Seeing Luna on life support in the hospital will last with me forever. I can’t describe how that felt. I would not wish it upon my worst enemy.’

Read: CRISTIANO RONALDO TO QUIT REAL MADRID NEXT YEAR...

Cristiano Ronaldo has decided to leave Real Madrid at the end of the season, according to reports.

Spanish TV show El Chiringuito de Jugones claims that the 32-year-old has already informed Madrid president Florentino Perez of his decision to quit the club next summer.

The report also claims that Perez is not willing to allow Ronaldo to leave, even though the forward has rejected the offer of a renewed contract.

It’s claimed that Ronaldo is also unhappy that Madrid made a strong attempt to sign Kylian Mbappe from Monaco this summer before eventually losing out to Paris Saint-Germain.

When asked earlier this month he was expecting to sign a new deal with Madrid, Ronaldo told beIN Sports: ‘I don’t want to renew. I don’t want to renew.

‘I’m very happy with the contract I have.’

Ronaldo has scored only one goal in his last four games at Madrid and cut a frustrated figure in the 3-0 victory over Las Palmas before the international break.

Reports in Spain claimed that the Portugal international was unhappy with his Madrid teammate Isco over his celebration after scoring Madrid’s third goal.

Earlier this week, the footballer celebrated the birth of his new daughter Alana Martina with girlfriend Georgina Rodriquez.

Incredible Footage: BABY CRAWLS OUT OF THE WOMB BY HIMSELF DURING C-SECTION...

This is the incredible moment a baby boy crawls out of his mother’s womb by himself.

Video shows the boy slowly pulling his arm and then the rest of its body through an incision in his mother’s stomach during a natural C-section.

A natural or gentle caesarean section is intended to mimic a natural childbirth as closely as possible and the procedure is becoming increasingly popular.

During the procedure the head is delivered first and then the rest of the baby is gently squeezed out.

They differ from a regular c-section in which a doctor removes the baby from the womb.

The video clip showing the child being born by a gentle C-section was posted to Instagram – although it is not clear when or where in the world the child was born.

In the footage a doctor can be seen softly supporting the baby’s head as he slowly removes himself from the womb. When the child pulls himself free a gasp can be heard in the background.

WOMAN FRACTURES MAID’S HEAD OVER MISSING JEWELLERY...

A woman, Motunrayo Ayadi, reportedly broke the head of her 13-year-old maid, Deborah Matthew, for alleged theft in Ijeshatedo, Surulere, Lagos State.

Angered by the incident, residents surrounded the house of the sexagenarian and were about to set it ablaze when policemen from the Ijesha division, led by the Divisional Police Officer, rescued her.

The suspect was said to have been arrested and detained at the station, while Matthew was rushed to a general hospital for medical attention.

Ayadi and Matthew had been living together at the house for sometime before the woman discovered that her gold jewellery was missing on Saturday.

It was learnt that the suspect queried the teenager about the jewellery and she allegedly owned up, saying she kept the item in an uncompleted building. When the woman went to the building where the jewellery was kept, she didn’t find it.

“She said the value of the jewellery was about N500,000. When she couldn’t find it, she became angry and descended on the girl. She beat her up with an object till she broke her head. That was what residents saw and they became angry. They wanted to burn down her house. The DPO and his team were on patrol when they came across the scene and rescued her from the mob,” he said.

A Facebook user who posted a graphic video of the victim, however, claimed that she fell from the “second floor” of the house during the assault.

“(She was) thrown from the second floor by her madam; deep lacerations and contours.  Terrible! What can be done please? Just tired of this madness,” she wrote.

The Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Olarinde Famous-Cole, confirmed the incident, adding that the victim was rushed to the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, Ikeja.

He said, “It is a case of assault and wounding. The girl was accused of theft and she was assaulted by the guardian. She fell and sustained injuries; we took her to LASUTH where she was X-rayed for internal injuries. She is under observation and the matter is under investigation.”

Famous-Cole, however, denied the report that Matthew was thrown down from the building.

ALIKO DANGOTE TO INVEST UP TO $50 BILLION IN USA, EUROPE...

Africa’s richest man, Aliko Dangote, plans to invest $20 billion to $50 billion in the U.S. and Europe by 2025, in industries including renewable energy and petrochemicals.

The 60-year-old Nigerian cement tycoon aims to move into these territories for the first time in 2020 after completing almost $5 billion of agricultural projects and an $11 billion oil refinery in his home country, he said in an interview with Bloomberg Markets Magazine this month.

“Beginning in 2020, 60 percent of our future investments will be outside Africa, so we can have a balance,” said Dangote, who’s worth $11.1 billion, according to Bloomberg’s Billionaires Index. Dangote Group will consider investments in Asia and Mexico, but will focus mainly on the U.S. and Europe, he said. “I think renewables is the way to go forward, and the future. We are looking at petrochemicals but can also invest in other companies.”

Dangote has diversified rapidly in the last five years, both geographically and into new industries. He’s expanded Dangote Cement Plc, which accounts for almost 80 percent of his wealth, into nine African countries aside from Nigeria. In 2015, he began building a 650,000 barrel-a-day refinery near Lagos, Nigeria’s main commercial hub, and he’s constructing gas pipelines to the city from Nigeria’s oil region with U.S. private equity firms Carlyle Group LP and Blackstone Group LP. He said in July he’d invest $4.6 billion in the next three years in sugar, rice and dairy production.

Shares in Dangote Cement rose 2.7 percent to 219.80 naira in Lagos Thursday, extending their advance this year to 26 percent.

The suspects made away with 40 inches television set, two computer laptops, eight wrist watches, three ladies bags and unspecified amount of money.

Explaing their modus operandi, the Tesano District Police Commander, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Edward Tetteh, said Rauf sends Evelyn to monitor the activities of victims at their homes, and when they are not at home, she calls her boyfriend, and they break into  homes and steals items.

DSP Edward Tetteh, who confirmed this to The Ghanaian Times in Accra yesterday, said that the two are in police custody assisting in investigations. He said on June 29, 2017, the police received a complaint from Mr Aryee that his house had been broken into and his belongings stolen.

DSP Tetteh said during investigation, neighbours told the police they saw a woman carrying a tv set. He said when Evelyn was arrested, she mentioned Rauf as the one who broke into the house, leading to the arrest of Rauf at his residence.

The Police Commander stated that a search in Rauf’s room revealed a lady’s bag. DSP Tetteh asked the public to be vigilant, saying “we should endeavour to be each other’s keeper in the neighbourhood. It is the vigilance of the neighbours that led to the arrest of the suspects.”

MIKE TYSON DEPORTED FROM CHILE...

Former heavy weight boxing great Mike Tyson was barred from entering Chile on Thursday because of his criminal record, airport police said, AFP reports.

Immigration police at Santiago international airport tweeted a photo of the 51-year-old former heavyweight champion being escorted by officers “re-embarking” him.

It said he was being deported for “not complying with immigration law.”

The police force explained it had the power to “prohibit the entry into the country of any foreigner who has negative records and/or convictions in their country of origin.”

In 1992, Tyson was convicted of raping a teenage beauty pageant contestant in his hotel room in Indianapolis, Indiana. He was sentenced to six years in prison but released on parole after serving three.

The American had travelled to Chile at the invitation of a TV channel and to take part in an advertising campaign.

NICKI MINAJ'S BROTHER SEXUALLY ABUSED AN 11-YEAR-OLD GIRL...

Nicki Minaj’s brother has been found guilty of sexually abusing an 11-year-old girl he considered ‘a daughter’.

Jelani Maraj, 38, of Baldwin, New York may now face up to life in prison following his conviction in Nassau County Court on Thursday.

He will be sentenced on December 14; he was charged on a felony charge of predatory sexual assault on a child and endangering the welfare of a child.

Prosecutors had claimed that Maraj raped the young girl at the age of 11 between April and November 2015.

‘We hope that today’s verdict will help the family in the healing process,’ Nassau County D.A. Madeline Singas told TMZ.

Now 14, the young girl testified that he would tell her she had ‘no say’ in what he did to her, and often called her a ‘puppet’.

She told jurors that he had previously treated her like a daughter but told her that the abuse was her fault and that she ‘wanted it to happen’.

Police confirmed that they had found Maraj’s semen on the girl’s pajamas, but the defense claimed the girl and her mother planted the evidence.

The defense had also claimed during the month-long trial that the allegations had been created to extort $25 million from the man’s famous sister; they also had to walk back a claim that Minaj would testify on her brother’s behalf. She never did.

Minaj has not spoken on the verdict.

Watch video: WOMAN ATTACKS MAN WITH HER BREASTS 'FOR STARING AT HER'...

A controversial video has emerged of a woman attacking a man with her breasts after she allegedly caught him staring at her.

The footage, taken in Ribeirao Preto city centre, south east Brazil, shows a young saleswoman, who had been handing out flyers, pinning a man to the ground with her foot as she accuses him of pestering her in public.

A crowd of onlookers watch as the woman shouts at the unidentified man on the pavement, telling him she is fed up of being ‘touched and sexually harassed while just doing her job.’

The man pleads for her to stop, claiming he ‘was out shopping with his wife and has done nothing wrong.’

But as the man protests his innocence the irate female, who is not named, shouts: ‘I’m fed up being treated like a sex object. Is it boobs you want?’

She then strips off her top, exposing her breasts and seconds later straddles the supposed offender. Bending over her alleged attacker, she slaps him around the face then proceeds to pummel his face with her bare chest.

Some onlookers support her actions and urge her on, while others are outraged with one woman shouting: ‘This is absurd, there is no justification for doing this. How can you do this in front of children in the city centre?

‘You’re disrespecting women with your actions.’

Others say the woman is courageous and ‘this has humiliated and exposed the attacker.’

It comes as Hollywood sex assault allegations continue to shine the spotlight on unwelcome sexual advances in the workplace. The incident was staged by a theatre crew at the end of last year in a bid to highlight the unwelcome attention that can often turn into sexually explicit and degrading comments.

Fausto Ribeiro, director of the Confluências group, creators of the piece said: ‘We wanted to expose and address something that happens every day to our sisters and female friends.

‘This was meant to challenge people’s perceptions and empower women with the shock tactic of retaliation. We wanted to force men to think more responsibly about their actions and the consequences.’

At the time of its posting, the video gained over a million views but was withdrawn after it was heavily criticised. It has since re-emerged amid the escalating Hollywood sex abuse scandal.

The high street company, whose tee-shirt the actor was wearing, denied any involvement in the incident. In a statement the business said: ‘There was no involvement of any employee or representative in this theatrical action.’
