Massacre in Cairo: 'More Than 100 Dead' And 1,000 Injured After Egypt Is Rocked By Violent Clashes

At least 100 supporters of ousted Egyptian president Mohammed Morsi have been killed after deadly night of violence in Cairo. More than 1,000 protestors were also injured in the clashes with security forces in the east of the Egyptian capital.

Tensions flared near the Rabaah al-Adawiyah Mosque in one of the deadliest bouts of violence in Egypt’s turmoil following the Arab Spring uprising of 2011.

It followed a day of massive pro-military rallies backing a tough hand against Morsi’s backers and the Muslim Brotherhood group. Millions took to the streets answering a call from the head of the army, who said he wanted a mandate to stop ‘potential terrorism’ by Morsi supporters.

‘The army is here to protect the people. They don’t lie,’ said Ezzat Fahmi, a 38-year-old in the crowd.

He said the army had called the rallies ‘so the entire world can see that the Egyptian people don’t want the Brotherhood anymore’.

It comes almost three weeks after more than 50 people, mostly demonstrators, died in a similar outbreak of violence outside a military installation near the same sit-in.

A doctor at the scene said the number of casualties is likely to rise, with the Muslim Brotherhood claiming armed forces were ‘shooting to kill’.

Earlier, prosecutors opened an investigation against Morsi on charges including murder and conspiracy with the Palestinian militant group Hamas.

Beach Horror As Teenage Swimmer Dies In Shark Attack

A teenage girl has died after being savaged by a shark while swimming off a popular beach in Brazil.

Bruna Gobbi, 18, was waist deep in the sea when the killer bit into her leg. Horrifying video filmed from the beach shows a violent splash of water before the sea around the victim turns red with blood.

The footage then shows her being brought ashore with serious injuries to the lower part of her left leg. Much of her skin and flesh was missing, although her foot was still attached, according to local reports.

The teenage tourist was taken to hospital but died after surgery to amputate her leg around 15 inches above the knee. Bruna, from Sao Paolo, was visiting family in Boa Viagem, Recife, when she was attacked at the beach.

A man on a jetski is seen in the film helping bring the girl ashore.

Her cousin Daniele Gobbi told a Brazilian TV station: "The rescuers came in a matter of five minutes but to us it felt like five years."

Signs warning swimmers of previous shark attacks are displayed along the length of the beach and Bruna had been warned about the dangers of swimming in the sea, the TV station reported.

It said local authorities have asked the Brazilian government to ban swimming in areas prone to shark attacks.

According to a government agency there have been 21 shark attacks - ten of them fatal - in Boa Viagem since 1992.

Bruna is thought to be the first woman killed by a shark since the records began.

Horror Train: 77 Killed, 131 Injured After Disaster In Spain

A TRAIN is strewn across tracks last night after it derailed in Spain - killing at least 77 people and injuring 141 more. All 13 carriages careered off the line and some caught fire. Passengers were crushed as the wagons piled on top of each other.

Today investigators were probing claims the express may have been going at more than TWICE the 50mph speed limit when it crashed on a bend.

The train, packed with 218 passengers, crashed two miles from Santiago de Compostela in North-West Spain. Many victims were on their way to a religious festival due to take place in the city today.

One British person has been injured the tragedy which occurred 8.40pm local time — 7.40pm UK time.

Last night scores of bodies were lined up covered by blankets as rescue workers clambered over the twisted metal to pull the injured to safety.

Television footage showed one man on top of an overturned carriage using an axe to smash windows to reach passengers trapped inside.

Officials in Galicia said 73 victims were found dead at the crash scene and another four died in hospital.

The train was travelling from Madrid to the port city of Ferrol when it jumped the track on a curve.

Passenger Richardo Montesco said: “It was going so quickly. It seems that on a curve the train started to twist and the wagons piled up one on top of the other. A lot of people were squashed on the bottom.

“We tried to squeeze out of the bottom of the wagons to get out and realised the train was burning. I was in the second wagon and there was fire... I saw corpses.”

Bodies were covered with blankets on the tracks as rescue teams used cranes to lift carriages.

Officials said it was too early to say what caused the tragedy — thought to be the worst rail disaster in Spain’s history.

Prime Minister Mariano Rajoy, who was born in Santiago de Compostela, is to visit the site this morning.

Cybercriminals Hijack Royal Baby

Cybercriminals have already taken advantage of the whirlwind of excitement surrounding the birth Prince of Cambridge, warned internet security experts today.

Malicious emails promise the latest video news - but instead deliver Trojan software into PCs, including one known to steal online banking information.

The email claims to come from a company called ScribbleLive, a popular media marketing service.

Clicking any of the links in the email prompted users to upgrade their Flash player plugin, but in fact downloaded a Trojan known to be used to steal personal details, including online banking information.

Security expert Graham Cluley said, “ It’s very likely that we will see more of this kind of attack. There are several common tricks hackers use – it could be asking you for a username and password to see photos of the baby, or making you complete an innocuous-looking survey.”

Social networks are another fertile ground for hackers to sow dangerous material. At the time of the announcement of the birth, 23,500 tweets mentioning the Royal baby were sent per minute.

“People should be careful what they’re clicking on Facebook and Twitter,” said Cluley.
“Links can be automatically generated to include the trending hashtags. There are also a lot of joke pictures doing the rounds – if you get into the habit of clicking on them as soon as they’re posted, you’re less likely to be careful about where they come from.”

This is not the first time that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have been used by hackers to spread viruses.

When their engagement was first announced, hackers were quick to hijack the most popular search engine image results – with the result that clicking on an apparently innocent picture of the couple led to a warning message asking users to download fake antivirus software, which was in fact malware designed to take over PCs and steal data.

In 2011, a story posted on Aol.co.uk about a ‘Pregnant Kate Middleton’ children’s doll was found to have been infected by hackers. Visiting the page would attempt to run malicious software in the background without users’ knowledge.

Boy Of 12 With A ‘Tail’ Growing From His Back Is Hailed As God

This boy of 12 with a “tail” growing from his back has been hailed as a god in India. Followers flock to Arshid Ali Khan’s temple - often leaving cash or gifts in return for a blessing.

They believe the youngster - Balaji to his devotees - is the reincarnation of Hindu monkey god Hanuman. But doctors say he has meningocele, a form of spina bifida where the spinal cord develops abnormally.

Balaji, who lives with his grandparents near Chandigarh, said: “I love my tail. It’s a gift from God. It’s unusual but people respect me and bow before me because of it. I feel special.”

Doctors say if the growth is not removed, Balaji’s twisted limbs could become worse.

Tiger Woods Slammed After ‘Spitting His Way Around Muirfield’

There are many reasons why Tiger Woods may not be everyone's favourite sports star, but there is one that will not seem to go away: his habit of spitting.

The world number one upset many spectators at the Open Championship on Sunday with his persistent spitting around the course, and TV viewers were also quick to register their disgust on social media.

It is not the first time that Woods has been caught in the act, so to speak. He vowed to "be more respectful" in 2010 after a spitting incident. In 2011 he followed that with a heavy fine for having been seen spitting on the 12th green at a European Tour event in Dubai.

At the time, Woods conceded in a Twitter post: "It was inconsiderate to spit like that and I know better. Just wasn't thinking and want to say I'm sorry."

Of the incident, Sky TV's Ewen Murray said of Woods: "It doesn't get much lower than that.

"There are some parts of him that are just arrogant and petulant. Somebody now has to come behind him and maybe putt over his spit."

Murray also famously described Woods spitting on a green in 2011 as "one of the ugliest things you will ever see on a golf course."

Well, this issue has sadly reared its head once more at the weekend with Woods lambasted on social media for "spitting his way round Muirfield" while his widely popular and cheerful compatriot Phil Mickelson won his first Open title.

Under the code a player can be fined between £250 and £10,000 for a "minor breach", as Woods's spitting has been deemed in the past.

But such financial penalties hardly mean much to a man once declared golf's first billionaire and who has reportedly received $3m appearance fees for turning up to single events in Dubai over the years.

Aside from memories of his infamous televised "apology" in the wake of revelations about his personal life, Woods's conduct on the course continues to be questioned.

With yet another case of spitting turning much of the general public against him once more, has Tiger's halo slipped again?

The question also needs to be asked: do golfers really need to be spitting at all anyway? Do sportsmen and women have any real need to do so in a wider context?

Certainly in the sport of golf, Tiger appears to be very much on his own in this.
