Teen Stoned To Death By Dad And Brother For Dishonouring Family By Meeting Boy

A teenage girl was stoned to death by her father and brother after bringing ‘dishonour’ to the family by meeting a boy from another village, police have claimed.  Tragic Pratibha Khan was also strangled before her body was cruelly dumped in a field. 

The battered remains of the 19-year-old, whose face had been “smashed beyond recognition”, were found close to her home in the north of India. 

Shocked pal Alia Modi, 18, said: "I was walking home through the fields when I saw a body lying on the ground. 

"It was covered in blood and when I looked at the face it was so badly damaged I didn’t recognise it as Pratibha’s. 

"It was only later that I learnt who it was and I was simply horrified.” 

 A police spokesman said: "The post-mortem report showed that while the cause of death was strangulation, it appeared that she had been repeatedly struck by bricks and stones. 

"Perhaps to hide her identity, some of the blunt force injuries to her face were made after her death, but most weren't.” 

"It looks like the brother and father dragged her to the fields and assaulted her with bricks and stones. They then strangled her and went on to smash her face beyond recognition.” 

Pratibha’s father Jagpal, 65, and oldest brother Pradeep, 36, were both arrested after police found inconsistencies in their statements. 

The police spokesman said: "An analysis of her mobile phone records pointed to the involvement of her family members, in particular the brother and father. 

"Initially, her brother Pradeep was questioned and claimed she was killed by her lover. 

 "It was only later when we interrogated Pradeep and his father Jagpal separately that we were able to find inconsistencies in their statements. 

"Eventually they admitted that they had killed her because she was in love with another boy from a nearby village.” 

One of the girl’s other brothers Prabhat, 33, said: "I am neither sorry nor surprised that my sister is dead. 

"If what people say is true, then I am not surprised that my father and brother killed her."

Imam Rapes 22-Year-Old, Shaves Hairs In Ogun..

An Imam, Rabiu Abdulquadri, has been arrested by the Ogun State Police Command for shaving the pubic hair of a 22-year-old-girl and collecting her nails under the pretext of preparing a favour charm for her.

The Imam was also accused of raping the victim, Elizabeth (pseudonym), in his house in Abule-Ojo, Obafemi Owode Local Government Area, Ogun State

It was learnt that Abduquadri, popularly known as Alfa Cisse, approached the victim, who was returning from her place of work around 8.30pm on December 28.

The Imam was said to have stopped the victim at a roundabout in the Ofada area of the state, claiming he had a vision about her.

He was said to have ordered her to join an on-going prayer in his mosque before he could reveal the vision.

Elizabeth, who claimed she succumbed to Alfa Cisse’s bidding unconsciously, said he took her to his apartment after she dropped her luggage at home.

In the night, the cleric allegedly instructed her to strip herself naked and shaved strands of hair in her head, armpit and private parts, after which he had a carnal knowledge of her.

It was also learnt that he told her to come back for a charm that would bring favour to her the following day.

When the victim was contacted on Wednesday, she said, “He and some clerics prayed for me. In the night, he woke me up, collected my nails, hairs and slept with me not minding my menstrual discharge. He said he would use them to prepare a charm for me to get favour.

“I did not realise what I was doing untill the next day when I returned home and my sister scolded me for not sleeping at home. That was when it occurred to me that I had been used.

“He even demanded more hairs when I got there the following day. Since then, I have been feeling weak and I can’t sleep in the night.”

Elizabeth’s uncle, Mr. Oluwaseun Idowu, said he had spent a lot of money on the victim, whose health reportedly aggravated after the encounter with the cleric.

Idowu said he eventually located the Imam’s house after which policemen from the Owode Police Division arrested him.

It was learnt that Alfa Cisse confessed to the police that he actually took the girl’s pubic hairs, although he denied having sex with her.

Boko Haram Endorses Buhari For Presidency.

The presidential candidate of the All Progressives’ Congress (APC), Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (rtd), on Tuesday gained an unusual support as the Islamic Terrorist group in the Northeast, Boko Haram, pledged its total support for the former military ruler.

In a lengthy press statement circulated through email by the groups spokesperson, Abubakar Shekau, anchored its decision on the need to deliver Nigeria, especially the northern region, from the crunching effects of poverty, underdevelopment and insecurity.

It also lamented the unconcerned attitude of the President Goodluck Jonathan’s administration at the unrelenting degradation of the northern region environment, taking a hard stance also on the increasing insecurity in the northeast.

President Jonathan, according to Boko Haram, does not deserve a second term in office.

The Islamic terrorist group also commended Buhari for proposing to stabilize the oil market and scrap the office of the First Lady – which it considered to be a drain on the nation’s resources and a conduit through which corrupt government officials stole across all levels of government.

It said, “Boko Haram has, upon careful consideration of the state of the nation, endorses and fully supports the presidential candidate of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Gen. Mohammadu Buhari.

“Our decision to throw our full support on Gen. Mohammadu Buhari stems from the pathetic state in which the country has been put by the government of Goodluck Jonathan and our strong believe in Buhari as the man and change the country needs.

“We have been putting our trust in Gen. Mohammadu Buhari as our spiritual leader to show us direction. This was one of the reasons we nominated him as our mediator, but as usual, President Jonathan rejected this wonderful proposal.”

“We urge every Nigerian to vote for APC and Gen. Mohammadu Buhari. He is the only person that can end this disease in Nigeria called corruption. As a human being, we are aware that he made several mistakes in the past such as ruling for 2 years as a Head of State without a legacy or a single project to his name and government. He also jailed innocent Nigerians such as Alex Ekwueme, Ambrose Alli, Tai Solarin, Sam Mbakwe, Jim Nwobodo etc. He also used retrogressive laws to kill Nigerians and clamped down on the Press – where Journalists were jailed. Due to Buhari’s love for his people, Alhaji Shehu Shagari was not jailed but his Vice, Dr. Alex Ekwueme was sent to Kirikiri maximum prison. Buhari also didn’t touch our brother, Ibrahim Awwal – who was caught at Heathrow airport London, with 14 million pounds. These are the things that make us to love Buhari. He has our interest at heart.

“Under Buhari’s watch, N25 billion disappeared from PTF accounts and found its way into the pockets of our brothers in the north. Abacha also freely shared the Nigeria’s resources with our people and Transparency International was jealous as they listed Nigeria as the most corrupt country in the world in that period. This is just pure jealousy and envy. Abacha never stole money, even Buhari can attest to this.”

“Our main reason of supporting Buhari is because he’s a typical example of what we’re preaching: ‘Western education is sinful.’ This, he has demonstrated as no single educational qualification can be traced to his name, yet he reached the apex of his military career and ruled the country. Is this not a proof that Western education is bullshit? A man without a certificate ruled the country and wants to rule it again, yet those with numerous certificates can’t even head their local government. We want to use this medium to warn those that have been asking for Buhari’s certificate to stop it or be bombed by Boko Haram.”

“Finally, every Muslim loves to live in an Islamic State, so we urge Muslims to vote for Buhari in en masse. He is the only man that can Islamize Nigeria where Muslims would live happily. Mohammad Ali Released From Hospital..

Boxing legend Muhammad Ali was released from hospital late on Tuesday after battling a severe urinary tract infection.

Ali was admitted on December 21st with what was initially thought to be pneumonia.

Family spokesman Bob Gunnell said: "The Ali family greatly appreciates the outpouring of support and continued well wishes.

"They also want to thank the team of doctors and nurses for their exceptional care."

Ali will celebrate his 73rd birthday on January 17th.

Truck Crushes Parents, Two Kids To Death

Four members of the same family– a father, mother and their two kids– have been crushed to death by a truck laden with bags of rice.

The accident was said to have happened along the Iwo-Ibadan Road in Osun State.

A passenger in a commercial bus, who witnessed the accident, said that Mr. and Mrs. Olumide Bankole; their children, Sharon and Shama, were crushed to death by the truck which lost control in an attempt to avoid running into a queue of vehicles on the road due to a police checkpoint.

The eyewitness, who identified himself as Leke Okunola, said rescuers at the scene learnt that the family was traveling from Ogbomoso in Oyo State to Ibadan when the accident occurred around Odo Oba River on Christmas Eve.

He said the car in which the Bankoles were travelling was coming from Iwo and heading towards Ibadan, while the truck was coming from Ibadan.

The eyewitness blamed the accident on the police checkpoint, saying if the road block was not there, the accident would have been avoided.

Okunola said, “The car in which the victims were travelling was coming from the opposite direction and after the police had checked him, he moved, but a trailer which was loaded with bags of rice lost control and fell on the car.

“The truck was on top speed. The driver saw a long queue of vehicles caused by the police checkpoint. The driver did not want to ram into the vehicles on the queue and veered off the lane. That was when the car was cleared to go.

“The driver of the car saw the truck and drove into the bush. The truck driver, however, lost control and fell on the car.

“The driver of the car, his wife and two children, including a baby, were all dead by the time they were rescued from under the truck.”

He added that the victims were trapped under the truck for close to five hours before their mangled bodies were removed by rescuers.

A lady, who was said to have been given a free ride by the family, was said to have survived, but her hand was reportedly chopped while being pulled out from the wreckage.

Okunola added that some chickens inside the boot of the car survived the tragic accident and flew out when rescuers opened the boot.

The Chairman of the Non Academic Staff Union at the Osun State University, Mr. Isaiah Fayemi, who is an in-law to the Bankoles, said the family had been thrown into deep mourning since the accident happened.

He called on the Inspector General of Police, Mr. Suleiman Abba, and the Commissioner of Police in Osun State, Mr. Abubakar Marafa, to investigate the cause of the accident and punish whoever was found culpable.

Fayemi said, “I learnt that the accident was caused by a police checkpoint. We will involve our lawyer in the case. We want the police to investigate the cause of the accident. I was told that two policemen had been arrested for the tragedy.”

Police Officer Shoots Youths During Carnival, Injures Four.

A drunken policeman, Corporal Emmanuel Ubi, has reportedly opened fire on some youths injuring no fewer than four persons during a carnival at Edumare Squad, Lagos Island.

The names of the victims were given as Yusuf Abdullahi, 17; Lekan Bamgbala, 26; Deji Bamgbala, 18, and an unnamed youth.

It was learnt that the bullet pierced through the right leg of Abdullahi and came out from the other side, while Deji was hit by a stray bullet in the wrist when he tried to rescue his brother, who was shot in the pelvic area.

It was learnt that the incident happened around 9pm on Christmas Day.

Apart from the four persons said to have been hit by bullets, several others were reportedly injured while scampering for safety.

It was gathered that a police team, led by the Divisional Police Officer of the Adeniji Adele Police Station, had stormed the area to stop the carnival.

It was learnt that Ubi and one other officer, said to be in mufti, alighted from the patrol van parked a few kilometres away. The duo was said to have headed for the venue. Ubi reportedly opened fire on the gathering.

An angry mob later descended on him; disarmed him and beat him to a pulp.

A resident and eyewitness, Tunde Ajayi said, “All of a sudden, the policeman started shooting at us. When we eventually caught him, we noticed he was under the influence of alcohol.

Woman Rescued After Getting Naked And Climbing Down Ex-boyfriend’s Chimney

A woman had to be rescued after stripping off and trying to climb down the chimney of her ex-boyfriend’s home.

Firefighters in California were called to a property in Woodcrest by the homeowner who was woken up by his former lover’s cries for help.

The mother of his three children had tried to open the front door at around 5am, report CBS.

But when the 35-year-old failed to gain entry she climbed to the roof, removed all her clothes and slid down the chimney.

She became wedged in the 12x12in chute.

Firefighters spent two-hours rescuing her and were forced to break the fireplace open.

She was taken to hospital with minor injuries and very sooty legs.

Girl, 7, Walks Away From Plane Crash That Killed Four In Kentucky.

A seven-year-old girl has walked away from a plane crash in Kentucky that killed four people.
The disoriented child left the wreckage of the Piper PA-34 near Kentucky Lake, US, walked to a house near the crash site and told nearby residents, authorities said.
The plane reported engine trouble and lost contact with air traffic controllers as it was flying over the south-western part of Kentucky at about 5.55pm local time yesterday (11.55pm GMT), the Federal Aviation Administration said.
About half an hour later, a man called police and told dispatchers that a seven-year-old girl had walked to his home and said she had been involved in a plane crash, said Sergeant Dean Patterson of Kentucky State Police.
‘This girl came out of the wreckage herself and found the closest residence and reported the plane crash,’ he said. ‘It’s a miracle in a sense that she survived it, but it’s tragic that four others didn’t.’
The girl was in emotional distress and taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. At that point, authorities launched a search for the crash site and also confirmed with the FAA that they had received a distress call.
About two hours later, authorities found the plane in a heavily-wooded area near the lake and discovered four bodies, including the pilot and the three passengers.
The FAA said the plane had taken off from Tallahassee Regional Airport, Florida, and was bound for Mount Vernon, Illinois. Sgt Patterson said the girl indicted that the plane had left from Key West, Florida.

Nigerian Army Condemns Four More Soldiers To Death.

The General Military Court Martial set up by the authorities of the Nigerian Army to try some soldiers of the 111 Special Forces Battalion, Maiduguri, have again condemned four soldiers to death by firing squad.

Investigations revealed that the President of the Court, Brig.- Gen Musa Yusuf, found the four soldiers guilty of conspiracy to commit mutiny and thus sentenced them to death.

It was learnt that the court condemned the four soldiers to death on December 24, 2014.

The GCM had earlier convicted 54 of the 59 soldiers to death after finding them guilty of conspiracy to commit mutiny on December 17, 2014.

The conviction of the four soldiers brought the total number of soldiers convicted and sentenced to death to 70.

Meanwhile, authoritative military sources said that soldiers of the Nigerian Army were being tried for administrative offences in designated military formations across the country.

Investigation revealed that the Commanding Officer of the Ojo Garrison Command, the General Officer Commanding of the 82 Division, Enugu and his counterpart in Kaduna are trying officers for various acts of misdemeanour on a daily basis.

These Court Martials are in addition to the General Court Martials established by the authorities of the Nigerian Army to try allegations of acts of misdemeanour against soldiers involved in the ongoing counter terrorism campaign in the North-East.

The Director, Army Public Relations, Brig. Gen. Olajide Laleye, had said in a press briefing on Wednesday that the military authorities had set up Court Martials in three military formations in Jos, Abuja and Lagos to try acts of misdemeanour emanating from the ongoing counter insurgency and counter terrorism operations in the North-East.

The GCMS are domiciled in the Ikeja Cantonment Lagos, The Headquarters of the 3rd Armoured Division, Maxweel Kobe Military Cantonment, Jos and the Nigerian Army Headquarters Garrison, Abuja.

On Friday, Laleye commented on the reported dismissal of 203 soldiers after alleged summary night trial, saying it was not true that the Army conducted secret night trial to decide the fate of soldiers.

He said while he was neither confirming nor refuting the story, commanders of the Nigerian Army had been trying soldiers for various emerging offences in adherence with military laws and long established procedures guiding the operations of the Armed Forces.
