Suspects Snatch Bag Containing Fufu, Stew....

The Rapid Response Squad of the Lagos State Police Command says it has arrested three suspected teenage robbers for snatching a handbag containing wraps of fufu and beef stew. The RRS said the suspects specialised in snatching valuables, using motorcycles, aka okada-snatch-and-run.

It was gathered that the suspects – Daniel Dali, 19; Emmanuel Ashaolu, 17; and Bright Ikenna Bright, 17 – were arrested on Friday at 10.48pm in the Ajegunle area by a team of RRS men on patrol.

Dali, an okada rider from Cotonu, and Ashaolu were said to have snatched a handbag from a yet-to-be identified lady. However, unknown to them, the bag contained two wraps of fufu and stew. It was learnt that their victim shouted for help, which prompted the RRS team to pursue the duo, leading to the arrest of Ashaolu, while Dali escaped.

The RRS commander, Tunji Disu, said the RRS team mobilised a decoy team, who combed the area, leading to the arrest of Dali, the okada rider, and Ikenna.

He said, “At the suspects’ apartment, two other roommates were arrested, but were later released after cross-examination by RRS officials.”

However, Dali said he started the business of okada-snatch-and-run in April 2015.

He said, “My mother’s death forced me into robbery. My mother gave me everything I wanted. After her death, I had no helper.

“Bright and I have been to four operations. In one of our outings, we snatched a recharge card worth N35,000. He sold it and gave me only N5,000. We don’t use guns; we have never operated with guns. We snatch valuables and escape on an okada.

“We have our routes. They are Boundary, Mile 2, New Roundabout, Wilma and Ajegunle. The okada we use was bought for me by a lady. I pay her in instalment. I have paid N75,000 out of N300,000.”

Ikenna said he had operated with the gang seven times.

He said, “Several boys do this business in Ajegunle. I know of a team, which live in different hotels, sleep in day time and operate at night. This is the only job they do to survive.”

The state police spokesperson, Dolapo Badmos, said the suspects had been transferred to the State Department of Criminal Investigation.

She said the suspects had given information that would lead to the arrest of more members of the gang.

Girl, 2, Fights For life After Being Raped And Having Throat Slit!!

A two-year-old girl is in a critical condition after she was allegedly raped and had her throat slit. A 14-year-old boy who was the last person seen playing with her has been arrested over the incident in Northern India.

The girl had been left outside by her mother when she was taken away. She was found in an abandoned room, covered in blood with her throat slit and a sharp-edged weapon nearby. Dr Baldeep Singh, a pediatrician at Deep Hospital, said: ‘The girl was brought to the hospital in a critical condition. She was bleeding profusely from her neck and private parts. Her throat was slit but fortunately the windpipe was intact so we managed to save her life.

‘She is currently on a ventilator and is stable.’

Dr Baldeep confirmed she had been raped.

The girl lived with her parents in a slum area of Model Town area, in Ludhiana, which is located near a railway colony. Her father, who works as a street vendor, said she had been playing with a 14-year-old boy before she went missing.

He said: ‘When we realised that our daughter was not playing outside the house we started to search for her. During the search we heard screams from an abandoned room that was locked from the outside.

‘We broke the lock and our daughter was inside lying half naked. Her throat was slit with a sharp-edged weapon and she was bleeding. We immediately rushed her to the hospital.’

Station house officer Beant Juneja, of Ludhiana, said they have arrested a 14-year-old boy who lived near the girl but originally comes from Bihar, one of India’s poorest states.

Officer Beant Juneja said: ‘We found the boy at a bus station trying to escape. We have now arrested him and charged him with rape and attempted murder.’

“She and a male pal waltzed down to the gates and were pressing every button in a bid to get out. They were there for a couple of minutes trying to figure it out.

“Johnson’s dad Dave then came out and opened the gates for them. The girl just walked off in her bare feet. She looked a little worse for wear.”

Johnson, who was paid £60,000 a week, was sacked by Sunderland after pleading guilty to grooming and sexual activity with a child at the start of his trial last month. Bradford crown court heard the star was messaging four women behind the back of his partner Stacey Flounders, 26, as well as his underage victim.

Johnson, who first met the girl when she was just 14, later groomed her with hundreds of messages before they got together in January last year.

A Five-Year-Old boy who begged for his life was shot dead by Al-Qaeda terrorists on an Ivory Coast beach yesterday - while his friend who recited a Muslim prayer was spared. Fourteen civilians and two soldiers were killed after gunmen armed with AK47s stormed three hotels in Grand Bassam yesterday.

One survivor who witnessed the horror attack said: "They killed a child despite him kneeling down and begging. They shot a woman in the chest. They've killed innocent people."

Another eyewitness who saw the young boy cruelly murdered, Marcel Guy, said a man with a long beard spoke to two children in Arabic and spared the life of the boy who could recite an Islamic prayer.

He said: "The Christian boy was shot and killed right in front of my eyes."

Ivory Coast's President Alassan Ouattara said a total of six attackers were killed by soldiers as they got the devastating attack under control. The President added: "I am very proud of our security forces who reacted so fast... The toll could have been much heavier."

Eyewitnesses said the gunmen shouted "Allahu Akbar" before opening fire on beach-goers and hotel guests. Al-Qaeda this morning claimed the horrific attack.

One of the targets was L'Etoile du Sud hotel, which is popular with Westerners and full of expats at the time. Four of the dead were Westerners, including a French and German national, officials have said.

A spokeswoman for the Foreign Office said there was no indication any Brits had been caught up in the tragedy. The Foreign Office has warned UK residents to stay away from Grand Bassam in the wake of the horror events.

David Cameron said he was "appalled" by both the Ivory Coast attack and the blast in Ankara, which killed at least 32 people.

He said: "I'm appalled by the devastating terror attacks in Ankara and the Ivory Coast. My thoughts are with all those affected."
