WOMAN RAPED WITH TREE BRANCH DAMAGING HER INTERNAL ORGANS DIES 2 YEARS LATER...

A woman has died two years after she was raped with a broken tree branch by a serial rapist. Anna Barmina suffered significant damage to her internal organs after being attacked by Gizar Ziyangareev in a case that shook Russia.

The 33-year-old never recovered from her injuries which caused a heart attack and left her in a coma.

She regained consciousness nearly a year after the attack, but never spoke again as a result of acute trauma. Anna also never left her hospital bed and lost significant amounts of weight.

She was one of four women attacked in the same week by Ziyangareev who is now serving a 23-year prison sentence – the longest ever handed down in Russia for rape.

He raped the women shortly after being released from prison where he was serving a sentence for violent sexual attacks on a neighbour and an underage girl.

When he raped Anna, he also stole her laptop and mobile along with around £745 in cash.

Anna’s mother Natalia called him an ‘inhuman monster’ and called for the death penalty while local police said they had never come across such a brutal and cruel attack.

Ziyangareev had one month cut from his sentence after telling the court that he had three dependent children and an elderly mother who he wanted to support.

Speaking after his sentencing, Natalia said: ‘I just cannot understand how the court could give such a lenient term. Anna will never get up, she will never speak. And he will get out of jail one day and continue to rape.’

Anna’s family said the reduction in his jail term, even by a month, sends out the wrong signal.

Her cousin Adel Galiev said: ‘The family is indignant at the arrogance of this person. ‘How does he dare, after all that he did, ask for some kind of mitigation of his punishment while covering himself with his children and mother? ‘Especially since he is a repeat rapist.’

And unnamed police investigator who detained Ziyangareev said: ‘He told me he does not regret anything he did.’ He added that it would never be possible to ‘cure’ him.

MAN FATHERED 8 CHILDREN WITH HIS DAUGHTER WHILE KEEPING HER AS A SEX SLAVE FOR 22 YEARS...

A man who raped his own daughter for 22 years and had eight children with her has been sentenced to 12 years and eight months in prison.

Domingo Bulacio, alias Vernacho, 56, was charged with sexual abuse and incest when he appeared in a court in Santiago del Estero province, in north central Argentina. The court even heard that his relatives know of what was going on but did nothing about it. And they have even attacked the daughter when they learned that she had filed a complaint.

Bulacio was arrested in January 2016 when his daughter told doctors in Las Termas de Rio Hondo that she had raped for more than two decades by her own father. It was also reported that she had giving birth at least eight times.

The court, led by the president Alfredo Daniel Perez Gallardo and Elida Suarez de Bravo and Maria Angelica Aguirre sentenced Domingo to 12 years for the sexual abuse. During the trial, the man refused to talk on the advice of his lawyer, Osvaldo Diaz, and he showed no remorse when he was jailed.

Around 50 witnesses, among them the accused’s relatives, participated in the trial. In prison, the suspect was being nicknamed by inmates as ‘El monstruo de Villa Balnearia’, which translates as Villa Balnearia monster.

Before being arrested, Domingo was a fugitive for 45 days when he hid in relatives’ house in the town of Loreto, 58 km from the capital of the province of Santiago del Estero.

After getting results of the DNA test which confirmed him as the father of the kids, he was arrested and held in custody in Santiago del Estero.

Meanwhile, six of the eight children taken into care at the Hogar Escuela Eva Peron children’s home in the city have now been allowed back home to live with their mother.

But the jailed man’s relatives have blamed her for his arrest and have reportedly attacked her and the children, including a further sex attack on one of her children.

MAN ARRESTED FOR KILLING HIS 6-MONTH-OLD BABY..

One Andrew Koku, a resident of Ayedere in the Obada area of Abeokuta has been arrested by the Ogun State Police Command for allegedly killing his six-month-old baby, Precious Koku.

A police report indicated that the suspect was arrested following a complaint from the mother of the baby, Omowumi Teleda.

She was said to have lodged a complaint at the Adigbe Police Division that she went out briefly to see the first child she had with her ex-husband, leaving the six-month-old baby behind with the suspect. She told the police that when she returned to the house, she met Precious dead.

The state Police Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi, said Precious’ mother explained further that the baby was hale and hearty when she left home, adding that she was surprised that that the baby had died when she returned.

The PPRO said, “The development made her to suspect her husband, who happened to be the only person with the baby.

“Consequent upon her complaint, the Divisional Police Officer, Adigbe division, Sunday Oladipo, detailed detectives to the scene and the suspect was arrested on December 24.”

Oyeyemi said on interrogation, the suspect confessed to the crime, but claimed that he killed the baby because he suspected that his wife wanted to leave him for the ex-husband, adding that if such happened, he would not be able to take care of the baby.

The police spokesman said the state Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Iliyasu, had directed that the case be transferred to Homicide Section of the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department for further investigation.

EX-FOOTBALL STAR GEORGE WEAH BECOMES LIBERIA'S PRESIDENT...

The former AC Milan and world football star George Weah has won Liberia’s presidential election, defeating the vice-president, Joseph Boakai, in a runoff with 61.5% of the vote.

Thursday’s announcement by the country’s election commission chair, Jerome Korkoyah, means Weah will succeed Ellen Johnson Sirleaf as Liberia’s president next month, after an election fraught with accusations of fraud and irregularities. It will be the country’s first democratic transition since 1944 and follows two devastating civil wars.

The commission said Weah had taken 61.5% of the vote, based on 98.1% of ballots cast.

Spontaneous celebrations erupted in the capital, Monrovia, a Weah stronghold. Supporters danced, clapped and sang “Olé, olé, olé” outside the electoral commission’s offices as the results were read out.

Weah, a national sporting hero, topped the first round of voting in October with 38.4% but failed to win the 50% necessary to avoid a runoff. Boakai came second with 28.8%.

The runoff was delayed twice after several parties took their allegations of malpractice to the supreme court , but it finally took place with a low turnout on 26 December.

Weah, 51, is the only African to be Fifa’s world player of the year or to have won the Ballon d’Or for Europe’s best player. At the time, Nelson Mandela called him the “pride of Africa”.

Weah played for Paris Saint-Germain and AC Milan in the 1990s before moving to England late in his career for spells at Chelsea and Manchester City.

His was already an inspirational story to a generation of Africans: he grew up in Clara Town, a poor suburb of Monrovia, and played football across the river in West Point, Liberia’s biggest informal settlement, where he still has a large fanbase. Many see his becoming president as a fitting next chapter in the rags-to-riches fairytale and one that gives them hope.

Weah’s road to the presidency has been long. He lost to Sirleaf, the first female elected head of state in Africa, in 2005, and then, as running-mate to William Tubman, he lost again in 2011.

Weah’s running-mate is Jewel Howard-Taylor, the ex-wife of the former president and warlord Charles Taylor, who is serving a 50-year sentence for war crimes in a prison in Durham, in the UK.

Howard-Taylor is a respected and powerful senator, but her links to her former husband, including her promise this year to bring back the agenda of his party, has caused much criticism.

Boakai is Sirleaf’s deputy, but some of the blame for his failure has been attributed to his boss’s refusal to support his candidacy or campaign on his behalf. Sirleaf has stayed quiet on who she wanted to succeed her.

POLICE STOPS WOMAN BECAUSE HER HOT-PANTS WERE SO TINY...

This young woman literally committed a crime against fashion. That’s because she was stopped by police who thought she was wandering around the streets half-naked in the middle of the day.

In fact, Abbie Crawford was braving the icy temperatures in a tiny pair of hotpants that were obscured by her coat.

The 25-year-old, who went viral after confused locals in Newton-Le-Willows in Merseyside took photos of her, has revealed the trusty item of clothing is her ‘pulling shorts’.

She told The Sun: ‘They’re my pulling shorts. I wear them when I crave attention – and obviously they never fail me.’

Abbie added that she found it ‘hilarious’ that her favourite pair of shorts, from Topshop, had got so much attention.

She said: ‘I had my music in, so didn’t notice anyone saying anything or looking at me in a funny way.

‘My friend only just showed me the picture yesterday – I was stunned, I couldn’t believe it.’

As Abbie walked along the pavement with her headphones, people stopped and stared, believe she had gone out without underwear.

Officers eventually caught up with Abbie and, after establishing she was in fact wearing clothes, advised her to dress appropriately.

WOMAN BATHES MAID WITH HOT WATER OVER SEXUAL RELATIONSHIP WITH HUSBAND...

A 19-year-old teenager, Blessing, is undergoing treatment in a Lagos hospital after she was bathed with hot water by her employer, Mrs. Isioma Ezeofor, who accused her of having a sexual relationship with her husband, Mr. Chigozie Ezeofor.

It was learnt that the victim, who hails from the Mbano Local Government Area of Imo State, lived with the couple at their home on Aunty Toyin Street, Kodeibo Estate, in the Isheri Oshun area of the Lagos State.

She was said to have been employed as a maid about six months ago by the Ezeofors, who hail from the Akokwa area of Imo State.

It was learnt that while Chigozie, a tyre dealer, sexually assaulted Blessing, the wife, Isioma, physically assaulted her for the least offences.

Matters were said to have come to a head on Sunday, when the woman returned from a trip and caught the husband caressing Blessing at their home. She was alleged to have beaten the maid to a pulp before pouring hot water on her.

A Good Samaritan alerted policemen in the area to the incident, leading to the arrest of the couple and the victim subsequently taken to a hospital for treatment.

A police source said, “Since she arrived at their house, it had been one assault after another. According to the victim, when she arrived, the man pretended to be interested in her welfare and asked if she was a virgin. She said when she told him that she was a virgin, he started touching her at every opportunity.

“The girl said one day, he attempted to have sex with her, and when he saw that penetration was difficult, he started having anal sex with her. The girl said each time he tried to do it, she would feel pains. She said the man would sometimes keep at it until she screamed and he would quickly withdraw.

“The victim told us that while the sexual assault persisted, she was helpless because she had nowhere to run to. She was a victim of trafficking. Her guardian had handed her over to the family and her salary was what they were using to send her to school. She is in Junior Secondary School three.”

The source said the woman had left the girl and her husband at home on Sunday, December 17, and came back earlier than planned when she met the husband caressing Blessing.

“The woman claimed that when she saw the husband with Blessing, she became angry and beat her up before pouring hot water on her,” the source added.

The state Police Public Relations Officer, Chike Oti, confirmed the incident, adding that the campaign of the state Commissioner of Police, Edgal Imohimi, against abuse of the girl child, women and the juvenile, was yielding fruit.

Oti, a Superintendent of Police, said the couple were in police custody and would be charged with trafficking and sexual assault at the end of investigations.

He said, “The case was reported at one of our divisions. The victim said she had suffered terribly in the hands of the couple, who delighted in dehumanising her regularly. She further revealed that her mistress, Isioma Ezeofor, beat her up at the slightest provocation, while her husband, Chigozie Ezeofor, sneaked up to her whenever his wife was away.

“The exploitation came to a head when Mrs. Isioma Ezeofor’s temper got the better of her and thus she emptied a kettle of hot water on the poor girl, scalding her in the process. Both husband and wife are being interrogated at the gender section of the Lagos State Police Command and would be charged to court at the end of investigation.”

He said the state CP was encouraged that more victims of domestic and sexual abuses were speaking up.
