FINAL YEAR FEMALE STUDENT DIES ALONGSIDE LOVER IN HER HOSTEL...

A final year student of the Imo State University, Blessing Amam, was on Monday found dead alongside her lover, identified as Emeka in her hostel in Umudagu-Mbieri, Mbaitoli Local Government Area of the state.

Southern City News learnt on Tuesday that the deceased student was a final year student in the Department of Theatre Arts, who was expected to graduate in August.

It was learnt that she slept in her hostel room with her lover on Sunday but both of them could not wake up the next day (Monday).

A neighbour, who craved anonymity, said it was the smell from the deceased room that alerted other occupants who had returned from school that something was wrong.

She said, “The students came back from school and started inhaling very offensive smell and on inquiry, it was discovered that it was from Blessing Amam’s room.

“Her flat mates called her but she did not respond. The door was forcefully opened and behold, Blessing and her lover were found dead. There were blood stains and marks on their bodies. Blood equally gushed out from their mouths and nostrils.”

The source, who expressed worry over the circumstances that could have led to the death of the suspected lovers, maintained that the deceased were full of life the night before, adding that there was no indication that they were in any trouble or distress in the room that night.

The state Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Andrew Enwerem, who confirmed the incident said, “It was a case of sudden and unnatural death.”

He, however, said that the state Commissioner of Police, Mr. Dasuki Galandanchi, had ordered an investigation into the circumstances that led to the death of the lovers .“It is confirmed. It is a case of sudden and unnatural death. The commissioner of police has called for a thorough investigation into the matter. On receipt of the information, our men at Mbieri division rushed to the scene of the incident.

“The necessary information that aid investigation process has been collected but we call on the members of the public that has pieces of information that will help us unravel the circumstances that led to the death to please come forward,” he said.

The Director of Information, IMSU Students’ Union Government, Mr Desmond Joseph, who also confirmed the death of the final year student and her lover said, “Amam Blessing, a 400 level student of Imo State University, Department of Theatre Art is dead. She was found dead alongside her boyfriend.

“Their bodies were discovered because of the offensive smell that perturbed neighbours who traced the source. They broke the door to discover Blessing and her boyfriend with stains of blood from their mouths, nose and other parts of their bodies. We also gathered that such incident had happened in the past in a house somewhere in Owerri.”

MOTHER SETS HER 13-YEAR-OLD SON ABLAZE FOR STEALING...

A 13-year-old boy, Obioma Odum, has died after his mother, Chinyere Odum, allegedly poured kerosene on him and set him ablaze. The incident was said to have occurred at Umuloghe Agbolughe, in Amuzukwu, Umuahia, Abia State.

It was gathered that Chinyere, who accused her son of stealing her phone’s memory card, together with her unnamed friend, initially tied him with a rope and gave him many strokes of the cane.

An eyewitness said the two women later dragged the boy into the kitchen and set him ablaze to make him to confess. The witness, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said the youths of the community forced the kitchen door open when they saw smokes billowing out of the kitchen and found the boy on fire.

The witness said, “The youths brought out the boy from the kitchen after putting out the fire. But when they rushed him to a hospital in the area, he had sustained up to 54 per cent burns.

“He was subsequently referred to the Federal Medical Centre, Umuahia, which also referred him to the University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital, Enugu. He died at the FMC this morning (Tuesday) before he could be moved.”

The father of the deceased, Mr Obioma Odum, said, “I was not at home when the incident happened.

“I was at my place of work when my elder brother called me that my wife and her friend poured kerosene on my son and set him on fire. By the time I got home, some youths had rescued and rushed him to the police clinic in Umuahia.

"I have been at peace with my wife until she was taken to a place where she turned into something else. There was a time she broke my head with a cutlass for asking her to severe a relationship with one boy.”

News making the rounds on social media reveal that the boy died after drowning in a pool, at Dbanj’s ikoyi residence yesterday. His remains has since been deposited in a morgue at GRA, Ikeja.

MAN CHOPS HIS PREGNANT WIFE'S ARM OFF IN AN ACT OF RAGE...

The Brooklyn community was stunned after a neighbour allegedly hacked off his pregnant wife’s arm in an unexpected act of rage.

Local police said the incident took place in their Sunset Park home, where the 35-year-old Young Lu allegedly grabbed a steak knife and attacked his wife just after noon, while she was waiting for her seven-year-old son to get back from school. Police have since launched a massive manhunt for Lu.

When police arrived at the scene, the victim was bleeding profusely and in a critical condition. Her husband had already fled the scene. The motive for the attack is still being interrogated.

Speaking to the New York Post, neighbour Ning Weing said: “They seemed like normal husband and wife.”

“I’ve never seen them fight,” said Ning.

“They get along really well. Mostly, they are really friendly. All the couples get along, but you never know what goes on behind closed doors. They are friendly, though. Very normal.”

A French priest who sparked outrage after he hit a two-year-old boy for crying during his baptism has been forced to retire. Father Jacques Lacroix, 89, said ‘I am finishing my ministry now’ and that ‘there is an end to everything’.

He carried out the bizarre assault during a ceremony at the Collegiate Church in Champeaux, near Melun, in the south-eastern suburbs of Paris, last Sunday. In a video of the incident that has gone viral, a clearly irritated Father Jacques is seen shouting at the boy.

‘Calm down, calm down, you must calm down,’ he says, adding ‘be quiet’ before squeezing the boy’s face in his hands.

The priest then stares at the boy in the eyes, and slaps him hard on the cheek with his left hand. This immediately prompts a reaction from the boy’s horrified parents and other family members, who finally prise him away from Father Jacques’s grip.

Denying that the assault was too severe, Father Jacques told France Info radio on Friday: ‘It was somewhere between a caress and a slap, I hoped to calm him down, I didn’t know what to do.

‘The child was screaming a lot and I had to turn his head to pour water over it.

‘I told him to “calm down, calm down” but he was not calming down. I tried to hold him close. I just wanted him to calm down.

‘I apologised for my clumsiness to the family. I am finishing my ministry now, it was my last baptism, there is an end to everything.’

Jean-Yves, the Bishop of Meaux, said he had ‘taken measures so that the priest is suspended from all baptism and marriage celebrations.’

The Bishop said Father Jacques would only be allowed to celebrate mass in the future if this was cleared beforehand. He said Father Jacques had been guilty of a ‘loss of coolness that can be explained but not excused’.

The Bishop added: ‘This gesture is all the more regrettable because the baptism is meant to be a happy moment, but tiredness and great age clearly played a part.’

The parents have accepted the priest’s apology and were happy to see the boy baptised, the Bishop added. They would not reveal how the disturbing video of the assault came to be posted on YouTube.

This is the horrifying moment a woman was cut from a 27ft python after being eaten alive while she was gardening. Wa Tiba, 54, a mother-of-two, was last seen on Thursday evening at 6.45pm when she went out to do some gardening.

But her children became concerned when there was no sign of her the next morning at their home in Southeast Sulawesi, Indonesia. They began looking for her at 6am and later found her sandals, machete and torch around 30 metres from a patch of bushes that appeared ruffled.

Wa Tiba’s sons then made a chilling discovery – an enormous python lounged on the ground barely able to move due to an enormous bulge in its belly after it had swallowed the housewife head first. Resident Ayu Kartika said: ‘Everybody was crying, everybody was shocked. The poor woman. This is like a horror movie. People are terrified. We are scared to go outside. We can only pray for a safety.’

The frantic lads called police and by 9am hundreds of villagers had gathered round the patch of grass in the remote Mabolu Village in the Lohia Regency of Muna province. Shocking footage captured the moment the snake’s skin was sliced open to reveal the slime-covered corpse of the housewife.

She was still wearing her brown leggings and dark red top. The knife that Wa Tiba had gone out with the previous evening was found on the floor – suggesting she had dropped it after being struck with deadly power by the killer python.

Her head was towards the snake’s tail and her feet at its mouth – showing that she had been swallowed head first.

Police superintendent Agung Ramos from the Muna district Indonesian National Police said Wa Tiba had gone out to check her garden the previous evening and never returned.

He said: ‘Children and residents had been looking for Wa after she did not return home. Some items belonging to victim, sandals, machete, and flashlights, were found but the victim was not there.

‘The family then reported this to the police and the search reached its conclusion at 9am. Residents found a python that looked like it was unable to move. Residents then suspected the snake swallowed Wa Tiba.

‘People took the snake into the village and started splitting the snake. The suspicions were true and there was a body in tact inside the snake. Unfortunately the victim was lifeless.’

Wa Tiba had a traditional burial ceremony later that afternoon in keeping with traditional religious customs.

Cristiano Ronaldo has "agreed to accept a two-year suspended prison sentence and pay a whopping £16.5million fine", according to reports in Spain.

The Real Madrid superstar had been seeking an agreement after being accused of defrauding the government in unpaid tax.

A settlement was thought to have been reached for a while but it hinged on the new government.

Ronaldo admitted four charges of fraud meaning under Spanish law he wouldn't need to face any time in jail.

El Mundo reported that Ronaldo offered around £12.9m in June last year which was rejected by the government.

The latest fine covers fees from authorities, fines and commission but he can now put the issue behind him.

Meanwhile, Real Madrid have reportedly offered the former Manchester United man a contract worth a basic £425,000-a-week plus bonuses.

Ronaldo is understood to be unhappy at the club, primarily down to a lack of protection over his tax issues and the fact his salary is dwarfed by his two biggest rivals.

He earns around £350,000-a-week, which pales in comparison to Neymar's £619,000, while Lionel Messi pockets a staggering £673,000 every seven days.

Real Madrid's offer includes bonuses worth up to a maximum of £6.45m-per-season.

A brazen couple who were filmed having sex on a gravestone in broad daylight in a churchyard frequented by children bragged that they did it for 45 minutes. Dog walker Scott Elwood spotted the pair's antics when he was passing through the Holy Trinity Parish Church in Shaw, Greater Manchester and was so outraged that he decided to film the explicit scenes.

The explicit footage sees the woman, believed to be in her 30s, lying on the gravestone as the couple romp away. Disgusted that the pair didn't stop their exploits despite seeing him, the 20-year-old heckled them, calling them "scruffy c***s".

He then shouts: "On a f*****g grave? That's f*****g wrong that, mate."

Scott passed the footage, which was filmed on 29th May at around 7.30pm, to police but was was appalled when the offending man contacted him to brag about his alfresco antics. The man, believed to be in his 30s, claimed to be 'not arsed' and told Scott to 'get a life and stop perving on people'.

He went on to encourage Scott to do the same, telling him to "have some fun in his life and take a risk now and again", claiming he too would "feel the buzz of being caught".

Manual labourer Scott branded the pair "disrespectful" for having sex on a gravestone last Wednesday as well as in the churchyard which is frequented by young children.

Scott described the incident as "a really shocking thing to see".

"It was broad daylight. I was walking through the alleyway when I spotted them as I looked to the side. I didn't really believe what I was seeing. I just thought 'what the f*** is going on?'

"But obviously I didn't want to stay there a long time as I was in full view of them. I was very close to them.

"But I went back past a second time to record them.

"The guy wasn't bothered at all that I was filming him. He was just looking at me with this look that said 'f*** off".

"He was far too involved in what he was up to to bother with me."

The man allegedly involved in the incident later contacted Scott and began to brag about the incident.

Scott said: "He bragged to me that he was doing it for 45 minutes - I just think he is an idiot to be honest.

"It sounds like he wanted to get caught, especially considering where he did it and then said in the comments that it was a thrill.

"It's awful to do that in broad daylight. That's why I had to record it. I didn't want to be the only eyes that saw it.

"They were doing right on top of the first grave next to the alleyway, right in front of all the houses.

"Every house looks right onto the graveyard, which is awful."

Scott reported the incident to the police after realising that the churchyard is often visited by playing children.

"A lot of children play on the church grounds playing hide and seek, manhunt and so on. Luckily there was no one there on the day but if there had been it would be awful," he said.

"I phoned the police and said there was a couple having sex on a grave and they said they would send a unit down but I didn't see anyone come.

"It's very disrespectful to do it on someone's grave. It's awful."

Scott said he would have reacted "a lot differently" if the couple had been having sex on a grave of someone he knew.

"I would have been very angry. I couldn't imagine what the family of whoever in the grave would think."

The man in the video admitted that he was having sex in the graveyard for 45 minutes but refused to comment further. The woman involved the footage said: "One person took a video. Just one person saw it."

Greater Manchester Police told MirrorOnline: "Shortly before 7.30pm on Tuesday 29 May 2018, police were called to reports of an indecent exposure at a graveyard on Church Road in Shaw. 

"Enquiries into the full circumstances around this incident are ongoing.

HEARTBREAKING IMAGES OF LITTLE GIRL BEATEN BY FATHER AND LEFT CHAINED TO TOILET...

These heart-breaking images show a four-year-old girl who has been so badly beaten by her father than she can barely open her eyes. 

The youngster was also chained up in a toilet and forced to do laundry in a tragic case that has been likened to the story of Cinderella. 

The little girl was found in near darkness with both hands inside a plastic wash basin, scrubbing her father’s clothes.

The shocking pictures were taken by a visiting relative and show her face badly bruised and swollen.

There also appear to be burn marks left by cigarettes on her back. The unnamed relative said: ‘[Her father] regularly chains her up in the toilet before leaving the house at 6 or 7am, only returning at 10 or 11pm to feed her.’

They said the father was an alcoholic. Within an hour of receiving a report of abuse, the local authorities went to the house in Qingzhen in Guiyang, capital of China’s south-western Guizhou province. 

The father, who is believed to work as a digger driver, has been arrested and the girl is currently receiving treatment in hospital.

BRITISH FOOTBALLERS ARRESTED AFTER RAPING TEENAGER IN IBIZA...

Three British footballers have been arrested in connection with the alleged rape of a teenager in Ibiza. Karlan Ahearne-Grant and Reeco Hackett Fairchild were arrested by police on Tuesday, and a third unnamed player was held yesterday.

Ahearne-Grant and Hackett Fairchild, both 20, appeared in court today. The three men reportedly play for Charlton Athletic FC. All were allegedly arrested after the teenager’s parents took her to police to lodge a formal complaint.

The alleged sex attack, described locally as a rape, took place at an unnamed hotel in Cala de Bou near San Antonio.

The 19-year-old holidaymaker and a female friend are said to have met the footballers at a bar on Monday and agreed to go back to their hotel with them.

Detectives have been told one of the players forced himself on the holidaymaker while the other held her down and a third filmed what was happening on a mobile phone. National Police in Ibiza who made the arrests have yet to comment officially on the latest detention.

The players, who were on holiday in Ibiza, were quizzed by an investigating magistrate today. The magistrate could either dismiss the case, remand the men in custody or release them on bail.

In the only Spanish police statement so far on the matter, a Spanish National Police spokesman said: ‘National Police officers arrested two English men on Tuesday in San Jose in Ibiza as the suspected authors of a sex attack. ‘The parents of the 19-year-old victim, who is also British, reported the incident to police.

‘National Police officers went to the hotel where those allegedly responsible for the sex attack were staying, and subsequently arrested two men.’

The first two arrests are understood to have happened around 6.40am on Tuesday. A Charlton Athletic spokesperson told MailOnline: ‘The club have been made aware and are looking into this matter. Due to the ongoing investigation we will not be commenting any further at this stage.’
