Man Decapitated By Lorry In Front Of Bystanders After Leaning Out Into The Road

A pedestrian has been decapitated after being hit by a lorry in a freak road accident.

The unidentified man was reportedly leaning out into a busy road in Stockport yesterday afternoon when he was hit by the lorry, separating his head from his body.

Several other pedestrians and workers from nearby offices witnessed the horrific collision.

Aaron Richards, who works nearby, was having a cigarette when he saw the accident.

That image will stay with us,’ he said.

‘I don’t know who he is but my thoughts go out to his family when they find out.

How terrible for them.’ Mr Richards also told of how some of his colleagues were so traumatised they had to leave work early.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene, however some witnesses claimed the emergency services did not do enough to protect bystanders from the gruesome sight.

An 18-year-old witness said: ‘I think the area should have been better cordoned off more quickly.

We saw more than we wanted to.’

A police spokesperson said the area was cordoned off as quickly as possible, however admitted that many bystanders would have witnessed the accident.
