Cameroon Football Legend And Former Liverpool And West-Ham Star, Rigobert Song Fighting For Life After Stroke.

Former Liverpool and West Ham star Rigobert Song is fighting for his life after suffering a stroke. The 40-year-old, who is former Arsenal man Alex Song's uncle, was rushed to hospital in Cameroon after suffering from a brain aneurysm and is now in critical condition, report the Liverpool Echo.

Song joined Liverpool for £2.7m in January 1999, but played just 35 times for the Reds before leaving for West Ham United in November 2000.

He also played for Galatasaray, Koln, Lens, Metz and Trabzonspor, winning 137 caps for Cameroon, including a gold medal at the 2000 Olympics.

Song is currently the manager of the Chad national team.

Former Liverpool team-mates Jamie Carragher and Robbie Fowler paid tribute to Song on Twitter, with Carragher tweeting: “Hope everything ends up okay”.

Fowler added: “Thoughts with Rigobert Song and family... hope he pulls through.”
